Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco (born Angela Maria Ani DiFranco) is an American and Canadian musician and singer. She has released more than 20 albums. Her songs are classified by the label as alternative and folk. However, they also are influenced by hip-hop, jazz, and punk. Ani DiFranco was among the first artist to launch her own label in 1990. Ani is widely considered as a feminist icons. DiFranco was born on the 23rd of September 1970 in New York City, York. She is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), who met Dante Americo DiFranco while studying at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father had Italian roots and her mother was a Montreal native.
