Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco (born Angela Maria Ani DiFranco) is an American and Canadian musician and singer. She has released more than 20 albums. Her songs are classified by the label as alternative and folk. However, they also are influenced by hip-hop, jazz, and punk. Ani DiFranco was among the first artist to launch her own label in 1990. Ani is widely considered as a feminist icons. DiFranco was born on the 23rd of September 1970 in New York City, York. She is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), who met Dante Americo DiFranco while studying at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father had Italian roots and her mother was a Montreal native. Ani diFranco composed and sang the song 32 Flavors. It is featured on the album Not a Pretty Girl by Ani DiFranco, that was released in 1996. The song was featured in the soundtrack for the Canadian romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate, released in 1999. DiFranco apologized in 2013 when it was discovered that she was hosting an event for three days on a Louisiana ex-slave plantation. The workshop was cancelled, but she didn't show any regret. DiFranco released an apology just a few weeks after. The singer is well-known for her Little Folksinger songs, however she's collaborated with many music genres, from Pete Seeger to Chuck D. New Orleans is where she lives. Ani DiFranco is married to Kristen Ford. At 14, she began to write her own music. The songs she performed at coffee houses and bars in her teens. DiFranco was a graduate at the age of sixteen at the age of 16, from Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts High School began to attend classes in Buffalo State College. The new baritone she got was a custom Alvarez, made by Chrys Johnston, who at the time was working as an Alvarez Artist Representative.
