
Kelly Clarkson, in full Kelly Brianne Clarkson, (born on April 24, 1982 in Fort Worth, Texas, U.S.), American singer, songwriter, and television personality who came to prominence as a pop-rock star after having won the telecast talent competition American Idol at the age of 22 in. Clarkson grew up in Burleson, Texas, a suburb located in Fort Worth, where her voice talent was first recognized by her teacher in the choir at her school when she was a seventh-grade student. Following her graduation from high school Clarkson went for a visit to Los Angeles to try to be a part of the showbiz. After returning home in Texas in 2002, she took part in the The Fox Broadcasting Corporation's American Idol. This singing competition allowed viewers to select their favourite performer. Clarkson received a lot of praise from viewers for her charismatic voice and sense of humor. The prize she received as the winner was $1 million, as well as a recording contract with RCA.
