
Salma Hayek Pinault (born Salma Valgarma Hayek , born September 2, 1966)[3][4][5]), is an American and Mexican actress. She began her career in Mexico by playing a lead role in the telenovela Teresa (1989-1991) as in the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) and for which she won an Ariel Award nomination. She quickly made herself known in Hollywood by appearing in films such as Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999) as well as Dogma (1999). Hayek's performance as Frida Kahlo who is a painter, in Frida (2002) the biographical film she wrote and produced, earned her the Academy Award for Best Actress nomination[6She also received the Academy Award for Best Actress nomination[6. The actress also won her Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and British Academy Film Award nominations.
